The works build upon my use of black as a substrate, functioning both as a contemplative space and as a reminder of pain, while colour operates as a means of articulating layered emotional states. Mixing and applying paint with my fingers remains integral, shaped by my experience with hyperhidrosis and by the pursuit of a more direct, tactile engagement with the surface. The imprints and textures created through this method embed my physical presence into the work, establishing intimacy and emphasising the immediacy with which I convey ever-changing perception. The erratic mark-making reflects a recent period of turbulence, while the search for harmony within these gestures signals a shift toward prioritising balance and security once more.
